What we really need right now is time by the fire, around the table, and with ourselves and one another in wholesome and imaginative ways.
One of the miracles of Rootstock is that, since 2018, in perfect mycelial fashion, it has gathered and tangled and woven an amazing web of people together. Our circles and ceremonies and immersions have given birth to a fractal family of pilgrims on the Medicine Path who want to reclaim purpose, make meaning, and live life authentically and in service of something beautiful.
Also in perfect mycelial fashion, how we each express this desire is as unique as a snowflake, as personal as a heartbeat, and as diverse as the Cosmos.
The Spore has been born to give Rootstock's growing family a place to celebrate our individual expressions of growth and healing, a place to explore and commune, a place to integrate and expand. Like a sacred fire that's always burning, this community hub, is here to gather around, sometimes with purpose and sometimes without. It's here to dissolve the barriers of time and space so, wherever you are and whenever you are, you have a seat in the circle, by the fire, and in community where you can give, receive, and be nourished.
What is The Spore?
Well, a spore is a reproductive unit found in fungi, moss, and ferns that can develop into a new organism without fertilization. The Spore, our Spore, is a living laboratory, ethereal temple, and conscious community where people come together, sit in circles, and make the meaning they seek.
This is not a classroom. It's not a storefront. It's not a content hub, networking platform, or curated festival. This space is not a place to come and take. It's a place to come and be, share, listen, expand into authenticity, receive, cultivate, and grow.
It's a living, breathing temple in which to bring your curiosity, vulnerability, clarity, authenticity, becoming, and power. It's a place to practice belonging and connection, a space to feel resonance and harmony, and a down home gathering place in the ether.
CYCLICAL, RHYTHMIC RE-MEMBERING
- Quarterly invocations called, Turning the Wheel ceremonies, will ground us where we are elementally, astrologically, and seasonally.
- Monthly round tables and idea incubators called Insight Councils will make space for conversation and exploration of topics that we collectively choose to explore.
- Monthly integration circles and office hours will ensure there's always a seat by the fire to get support and be witnessed in your becoming.
- Special space for microdosing community and alumni of Earth Medicine, the microdosing course, to stay in practice and conversation together
- Special space for participants of The Sages Golden Path, a Gene Keys retreat through 2026-2027.
- Chats and threads, live rooms, and a community bulletin board will also serve as butterfly nets to catch the ideas and needs of our shared space and help us reveal its potential together.
Plus, the alchemical power of what YOU bring to the table!
Beana will do her part to build the container, weave the partipicants, and animate it monthly and that will be plenty for some of you. But it's what you opt to bring to this community that will make the alchemical magic we all know is possible.
- Live Rooms will allow for folks in The Spore to connect outside of planned gatherings
- A community Bulletin Board will invite heartfelt offerings to be shared
- Topic-specific threads will emerge with community moderators to deepen into our work and explorations
- Meet-ups and analog gatherings are inevitable and we can't wait to see how we gather
- As community members cultivate presence and build trust in the space, new offerings could be born and shared including community meditations, somatic explorations, and who knows what else this miraculous community will manifest!
This is a leap of faith.
When Beana made the commitment to be a temple tender and medicine guide on the hill we call Rootstock, she couldn't have known what that would ask of her. Among many other things, it asks her to stay grounded in her place, rooted in her service, and healthy in her boundaries and body. It asks her to keep it simple and small enough to fit around her kitchen table or inside the Belly or the fire at Dragon Rock.
The Spore is putting a hundred new leaves in the dining room table and opening Beana's home and heart to everybody who feels called to this kind of simple homecoming, regardless of where you are. It's a way to stretch into possibility and potential and to allow for something new and profound to emerge. Like a functional family gathering, all of you who say yes to this experiment in community, will help to hold it in your unique and authentic way and, together, we'll make a nest in this inter-dimensional home in our hearts and be better for it.
Many, many folks in the Rootstock community are astoundingly brilliant, deeply earnest, wildly creative, amazing people. Everybody who engages this place wants to learn and grow. The circles and ceremonies here at Rootstock have their function and purpose and don't always allow for the pollination, collaboration, and weaving that Beana loves so much - and that our world needs - and The Spore is now here to scratch that itch, disrupt that pattern, create that community, and reveal the potential that's been incubating over the last many years of gathering.

Beana is not-so-secretly hoping that some of you will want to pop up some conversations, meditations, and other creative gatherings in here too and that the options for connecting will multiply in true spore fashion.
