36 homes on 3 continents, 100’s of thousands of miles around this beautiful planet and a few incarnations as an economist, luxury fashion executive, rock photographer, marketing maven, dean of this or that and sweet talker have finally landed me home in myself.

It wasn’t until I came to own the 10 precious acres and the temple called Dragon Rock at the top of Beach Hill that I was able to stop moving, root down, see the seasons change from one place and be still enough to hear my heart’s desire. The message I heard was clear: It was time to become whole, healed and empowered so that I could share my unique & creative vision with the world and support people to navigate these intense times on our changing Earth.

A winding path through a year long Shamanic apprenticeship introduced me to the transformative power of Snake Medicine which guided me to Southern Brazil where I immersed in a life altering ayahuasca seminar with some masters in the field, returning home healed in ways I never could have anticipated. That path continued to unfold into a deep kundalini yoga practice that has guided me to integrate my many lessons and create a pathway to now support to others en route to their creative destiny. Continued study, opening and healing conjured the courage and clarity I needed to step into my truth and birth Rootstock Retreat and my unique healing practice.

Beana's ability to articulate the moment, crystalize the healing, bear witness while staying vulnerable, present and compassionate with her guests at Rootstock is a big part of the medicine they receive during their time here. It’s her love, biggest joy and most humble privilege to support people to fall back in love with the Earth, with their own humanity and to find the courage to change their minds and change the world.

Beana is a not a doctor, therapist or licensed clinician. She is a Self-Certified Psychedelic Guide with:

7000+ hours of time leading therapeutic psilocybin sessions, over 750 sessions since 2018, and double that time helping folks prepare for and integrate experiences

32+ years personal experience exploring psychedelics and traversing the depths and limits of her own mind, heart, and being with a variety of medicines and molecules

Co-author of Microdosing Earth Medicine: A Seasonal Practice in Whole Living, a powerful microdoing protocol that has supported more than 500+ people to reclaim presence, wholeness, and perspective

Extensive personal experience with psychotherapy, talk therapy, Internal Family Systems, and myriad other mainstream and esoteric healing modalities

Deep personal experience with AlAnon, AA, CoDA and NarAnon.  Extensive support of clients in recovery navigating psychedelic healing

She completed a year long Shamanic Apprenticeship where she studied ceremony, journey work, the Medicine Wheel, and other teachings from in tact people and native peoples.  

A 200 hour Kundalini Yoga Teacher Training with Rama Institute where she studied the power of breath, meditation, movement, mantra and the creative impulse.  Beana still practices kundalini daily.

A 2 week Ayahuasca Seminar at WasiWaska with Luis Eduardo Luna, Dr. Bill Richards, Dr. Jeff Kripal, and other psychedelic thought leaders providing a deep dive into non-clinical therapeutic settings.

A BA in Economics and Philosophy from the City University of New York and over 20 years experience as a conventional human trying to make meaning in this body and on this planet

Her approach to the medicine is reverent, non-dogmatic, pragmatic, and transformative.
